Mileage accounting made easier

19 January 2010

Until now, a mileage account was made when a vehicle was returned at contract end, in order to account for the difference between the mileage billed to the customer and the mileage achieved by the vehicle in reality. This led to either an invoice or to a credit note at the address of the customer. Unfortunately, this system, despite being an honest and transparent one, often caused concern as the invoiced or credited amounts could never be budgetized in advance and often generated administrative problems.

  • Thanks to LeasePlan, this system now definitely belongs to the past!

As we always say: It’s easier to leaseplan.  We wants to make your fleet management as easy and efficient as possible. We also want to help you reducing your TCO (Total Cost Ownership) in your fleet management. Today, this requires for a global approach and not just an odd reduction of your renting costs, often accompanied by more radical means and generating bad surprises (mileage accounts or heavy contract expiration costs).

>> In that scope, as from 1st January 2010 on, we offer you a unique method in our business sector, a method that cancels any mileage accounting and billing if the mileage difference is inferior to 5% (or inferior to 5000 km). Here are the explanations.

  • Your advantages

  • No more mileage account if the difference is inferior to 5% or 5,000 km. This means :
    • Easier fleet management
    • Reduction of the billing flows
    • Reduction of your TCO, as for identical renting costs your global costs are reduced through this method
    • Increased flexibility concerning the monitoring of mileage (maximum free allowance of 5% or 5,000 km).
  • In case of mileage differences between 5% and 10% (or between 5,000 and 10,000 km), the minus mileage is accounted for at the same price as the surplus mileage, which has not been the case before!
  • This method allows the driver to take profit of a higher flexibility in terms of mileage and of a substantial financial benefit at the expiration of the contract.
