GreenPlan is a concrete multi-stage plan designed to help our clients to reduce the CO2 emissions of their vehicle fleet – bearing in mind that CO2 emissions from automobiles represent approximately 12% of global CO2 emissions.
GreenPlan is the first global programme of this kind to be developed by a leasing company. It was introduced in 2007 in the 30 countries in which LeasePlan has a presence and receives official support from the EU's Intelligent Energy Europe programme. It also meets the expectations of the growing number of drivers who integrate this environmental dimension in the criteria applied by them when choosing their vehicles. It's easier to leaseplan!
GreenPlan comprises a variety of dimensions
GreenPlan comprises various dimensions: advice (on “green” car policies and choosing vehicles), reporting (ecological audits, monitoring actual CO2 emissions, etc.), eco-driving training courses (practical and theory sessions) and compensation activities. In addition, this programme makes it possible to achieve significant savings in terms of cost, since these initiatives have a considerable impact on fuel consumption levels, which currently account for a very substantial element of the cost of operating vehicle fleets (over 30%). The provision of eco-driving courses also helps to reduce other cost factors (number of accidents, stress at the wheel, etc.).
